An Online Micro-Credential in
Cultural Intelligence

CQuest was created in response to a pressing challenge: How can we work and relate effectively with others in an increasingly diverse but interconnected world?

What is CQuest?

CQuest is a research-informed online micro-credential designed to build Cultural Intelligence (CQ). Developed to foster connection in an increasingly diverse world, it equips participants with the tools, strategies, and self-awareness needed to navigate cross-cultural settings with empathy and confidence, making it a valuable addition to any resume, portfolio, or learner profile. Benefits of the Course

CQuest has been developed with the expertise of leading CQ professionals and practitioners from around the world. These globally recognised experts have shaped the course’s design, bringing together a wide range of cultural, educational, and professional perspectives to ensure both depth and relevance.

  • Tracking personal and group growth on international service, study abroad or local flagship personal development programs.
  • Increased employability or promotion prospects by strengthening your self-awareness, communication and leadership skills.
  • Greater adaptability and resilience when travelling or working overseas or entering unfamiliar multi-cultural environments due to relocation, study or employment.
  • Provides a common language, shared understanding and upskilling for all members of your work or learning community.
  • CQuest Pro earns an industry-respected micro-credential jointly endorsed by the St Andrew’s Institute of Learning and Professor David Livermore on completion.

Every participant of CQuest Pro will complete a CQ assessment through the Cultural Intelligence Centre as part of the full CQuest course. The CQ Assessments measure an individual’s capability for working and relating across cultures. Participants complete the assessment online through the Cultural Intelligence Centre, and the results are provided against world norms.

What is CQ?

Cultural Intelligence (CQ) measures your capability to relate and work effectively in culturally diverse situations. Like IQ and EQ, CQ represents a set of capabilities linked to success in both personal and professional settings - but it is unique in its focus on navigating unfamiliar cultural environments. Backed by nearly 25 years of research across 30+ countries, CQ is a proven, measurable form of intelligence.

Cultural Intelligence (CQ) helps us navigate an increasingly diverse world by understanding others, adapting our behaviour, and responding with empathy and respect. CQ builds valuable skills for communication, leadership, and collaboration.

Designed and Endorsed by CQ Experts

Tim Barrett is the creator and lead facilitator of CQuest. He is the Head of St Andrew's Institute of Learning and is a lifetime member of the Society of CQ Fellows, a distinguished network of researchers and practitioners recognised for their expertise in CQ.

Professor David Livermore is a founder of the Cultural Intelligence Center, the Director of the Society of CQ Fellows, and the Ahmass Fakahany Visiting Professor in Global Leadership at Questrom School of Business, Boston University.
